tonchi is my grandmother’s Czech nickname, short for Antonia. she survived the Holocaust and spent the rest of her life creating clothing, food and family. jean, my grandmother on my mother’s side, rocked muumuus and hella costume jewelry like a g, all of which she scored roaming flea markets.

these women are with me every time i sew or thrift & since they were mothers too, with every poopy diaper & baby momma moment as well.
